Summertime Blender Drinks

Some like their drinks shaken or stirred. But this summer, to ward off the hot, hazy and humid weather, how about something cold…ice cold. James Beard-honored mixologist Kim Haasarud shared a couple of her recipes with PIX Morning News’ Lisa Mateo.
In the new book 101 Blender Drinks (Wiley & Sons), Kim whips up a tantalizing menu of cool concoctions that range from classic daiquiris to exotic batidas to frozen champagne cocktails to non-alcoholic fresh fruit smoothies and coffee drinks. “Summer in a glass” is just a pulse of the blender away.
Try these two recipes she made on our show.
