Want to get your kids active? Join in!

A third of america's childern are overweight. a problem that's so serious that even first lady Michelle Obama is spear heading a nationwide campaign to end childhood obesity called "let's move."

It's vitally important because doctors are seeing more cases of type two diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and early markers of inflammation in children. What this means is that we're going to have an entire generation of people with heart disease and diabetes at very early stage.. in their thirties and forties.. which will result in more heart attacks.. more strokes and early death. So get active with your kids.. get involved. Shoot for an hour a day! Here are some ideas.

-Encourage bike riding, roller skating, even riding scooters.
-Teach them to walk as often as possible, instead of taking the car.
-Get up and dance! You don't need great moves.. You just have to move!
-Get organized in sports. Making the commitment can make a difference.
-Play old fashioned games that have lots of activity like hopscotch, jump rope and tag.

No only will these activities help you lose weight, they're also a great opportunity to bond with your kids.
