The Federal Trade Commission's Admongo Campaign
From tv to the movies to the internet, our kids are exposed to advertising at every turn.
And now, with a new advertising literacy campaign, the Federal Trade Commission is working to help our children become smarter consumers. Leonard Grdon, the Northeast Regional Director of the Federal Trade Commission, stopped by to discuss their Admongo campaign.
The FTC's Admongo campaign is designed to help kids ask three key "critical thinking" questions when they encounter advertising:
- Who's responsible for the ad?
- What is the ad actually saying?
- What does it want you to buy, do, or think?
