Rent Kids: Long Island Students Make Broadway Debut

High school students from Long Island will take to the stage tonight performing the hit musical RENT. PIX Morning News Anchor Tamsen Fadal has been following the group as they prep for their Lincoln Center debut. The teens are members of the Huntington-based From Stage To Screen Performing Arts Academy.
From Stage To Screen is an educational facility teaching everything from musical theater to acting for TV/Film. The program is headed by director Gene Forman.
Starting tonight, April 9th through Sunday, April 11th, you can check out the theater group in RENT at the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater in Lincoln Square, across from Lincoln Center at 63rd Street and Broadway. For tickets, go to www.theatermania.com.
As an added surprise, Anthony Rapp, the actor who originated "Mark Cohen," the lead role in RENT on Broadway, stopped by to share a few words with the young cast. It was quite an emotional moment for the students who have been dedicating so much of their time to the production. Rapp is currently working on his own piece and hoping to get it produced.
