New York City: Best Place For Men To Live
Men living in the Big Apple have it made according to a recent survey by AskMen.com. The website ranked 29 cities across the world and New York City took the top spot, followed by Melbourne, Madrid, London and Tokyo.
The survey is based on a number of factors based on data that includes the number of guaranteed vacation days per year, weather, unemployment rate, new restaurant and club openings.
"With the Top 29 Cities, we've been able to identify the specific qualities that make a city truly great for men," comments James Bassil, Editor-in-Chief of AskMen. "Opportunities for professional challenge, a strong sports team to rally around and places to meet single, educated women easily are all factors that the everyday guy appreciates, and played a part in our global ranking."
AskMen's formula ranked the best cities for men to live, work and socialize in, based on data like the quality of green spaces, guaranteed vacation days, unemployment rate, culinary scene and ratio of single, educated women. Topping 2010's list were cities like New York, Tokyo and London, which offer job growth alongside the opportunity to enjoy the spoils through constant new openings and a cosmopolitan atmosphere. Capitals like Buenos Aires and Madrid made the cut as well, thanks in part to their exciting dining cultures and established cafe and nightlife scenes. Rounding out the Top 29 are a handful of emerging cities such as Beirut and Bogota, known for their vibrant culture, nonstop parties and entrepreneurial innovation.
