Assemblyman Adam Clayton Powell IV Wants To Snags Charles Rangel's Seat In Congress

They have a long history of facing off and they will do it again.
Assemblyman Adam Clayton Powell IV dropped by the PIX 11 studios to discuss his bid to snag Charles Rangel's seat in Congress.
Powell was unsuccessful in his last attempt to win the 15th District Congressional seat against Rangel back in 1994.
Rangel originally won that seat way back in 1970 from Adam Clayton Powell IV's father Adam Clayton Powell, Jr.
Powell says this is not about settling old scores, instead he says "it's time for change".
Rangel stepped down from his position as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee after being admonished by a House Ethics Panel.
Powell brings controversy of his own to the race. He was recently found not guilty of a drunk driving charge but was convicted of driving impaired.
The 15th district covers much of Manhattan's Harlem and Upper West Side.
The district has seen a significant change in demographics since Rangel was first elected. It is now nearly half Hispanic.
Powell, who was born in Puerto Rico, said he does not think that will play a significant factor in the primary race set for September 14.
