5 Tips to Keep You Fertile

1. The food you eat today, can affect your family later.
In addition to a well-balanced diet, pregnant women need increased levels of folic acid and iron. you can find it in eggs, cashews and fortified bread.

2. Sleep affects fertility.
If you're planning a family make sure you get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can lead to menstrual irregularities which can make it difficult to conceive. Seventy percent of americans don't get enough sleep.

3. Women a daily dose of dairy can help keep you fertile.
Are you getting enough dairy? A serving or two a day of whole milk or foods like full-fat yogurt, cottage cheese, and even ice cream, can help protect against ovulatory infertility.

4. Men have a biological clock too!
Men have a different kind of "biological clock". While they produce sperm until they die.. the quaility and quantity can be affected causing the incidence of birth defects to increase. So if you're older, consider getting genetic testing and counseling to learn more about any health risks that may pose problems for you and your future baby.

5. Yoga for mommy and baby!
If you want to get fit after delivery why not consider yoga for you and your baby? You get the relaxation, strengthening and flexibility of yoga routine.. while baby gets the benefit of your loving touch. Yoga is even recommended by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
