14-Year-Old Threatened With Suspension Over Breast Cancer Bracelet

Today, there's a story out of Plant City, Florida a 14-year old middle school student was threatened with suspension after staff at the school deemed his breast cancer awareness bracelet appropriate.
Frankie Rodriguez bought a $4 bracelet with the words that read "I love boobies" and "Keep a Breast."
He wore the bracelet to school for a month before anyone noticed or had a problem with it. A faculty member took the bracelet last Friday and then returned it. When Rodriguez came to school Monday, he was wearing it again and was told to turn it over, when he didn’t, he says he was threatened with suspension.
His mom says breast cancer is an important cause to the family because they have members who have survived breast cancer.
The school views its actions as being justified saying Frankie was disrespectful to faculty staff members. And, school officials have also made it clear to other students that the bracelets go against the dress code and are banned.
With the school threatening suspension, Frankie is no longer wearing the bracelet.
