TRANSform Me with Laverne Cox, Jamie Clayton and Nina Poon

The transgender hosts Laverne Cox (VH1’s “I Want to Work for Diddy”) Jamie Clayton and Nina Poon of TRANSform came by today to talk about her new reality T.V show.
This VH1 series is a makeover show in which a team of three transgender women, rescues women from personal style purgatory. Laverne and her ultra-glam partners in crime have undergone the ultimate transformation, so they’re the perfect women for the job.
The first episode of TRANSform Me, centers around a twenty-five year old girl named Nicole who has recently lost 60lbs--but you'd never know that by looking at her wardrobe. Several months passed since her dramatic weight loss, yet she's still wears her "fat clothes." Then there’s Laverne, Jamie and Nina they've all gone through dramatic physical transformations, and know what it takes to see yourself as you really are. They hope that new clothes, new hair, new makeup and a new sense of self will help Nicole recognize and embrace her true inner goddess!
You can watch the new 30-mintue reality show on VH1 every Monday at 10p. Be sure to check out the Vh1 TRANSform Me blog

This is wonderful in everyway. Finally some positive media exposure for transgender women and the larger transgender community. The more positive exposure through the media, the more people can open their minds and hearts to transgender individuals, and the better society will become. Disclosure: I am a completely sexually comfortable heterosexual male, but I met a Tgirl who is now a close friend of mine. Honestly, being transgender is just a small part of who my friend is and society needs to grow up about sexuality/gender issues.
