MTA Worker Turned Screenwriter Michael Martin Talks About 'Brooklyn's Finest'

Former MTA worker Michael Martin stopped by this morning to talk about his authoring the screenplay to one of this year's highly anticipated blockbuster hits Brooklyn's Finest, which stars Hollywood A-listers Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke and Wesley Snipes.
A 2005 car accident totaled Martin's Lincoln. Desperately in need of a new car, which he couldn't afford, he entered a writing contest with a grand prize of $10,000. He didn't win but his script got into the right hands and the rest is Hollywood history.
The movie follows a trio of drug cops in the rough Brooklyn neighborhood of Brownsville. In the course of one week, the three troubled law-enforcers find themselves involved in a massive drug operation.
Hailing from East Brooklyn, Martin also threw his support behind PIX's Project S.O.S. -- our campaign to save student MetroCards.
Brooklyn’s Finest will be in theatres Friday, March 5.
