Proceeds From Vero Wine School To Help AmeriCares' Chile Relief

In light of the recent 8.8 magnitude earthquake that hit the country of Chile, Vero will hold their previously scheduled wine school, “Wines of Argentina and Chile,” with proceeds going to AmeriCares and their Chile relief efforts.

Chile’s biggest winemaker, Concha y Toro said Monday that it is stopping production for at least a week due to the mammoth earthquake which hit the nation’s wine-growing heartland hard, damaging wineries and the transportation network. Of the quake’s 723 victims, most were in the wine-growing Maule region that includes a port city of Talacahuano, now a mud-caked city of 180,000 devastated by a Tsunami.

Founded in 1982, AmeriCares is an international relief organization whose passion to help is matched by an ability to deliver. Whether it's an epic disaster or a daily struggle, AmeriCares goes to extraordinary lengths to ensure that medicines, medical supplies and aid reaches individuals in need wherever they are, whenever they need it. In a quarter of a century, AmeriCares has delivered more than $8 billion of aid to 137 countries. For more than two decades, the success of AmeriCares has been characterized by timely response, meaningful impact, high integrity and intense passion for the work. Donations can be made at www.americares.org.

Information on AmeriCares will be provided, and attendees are encouraged to donate at the wine school, and throughout the weekend at both Vero locations. The wine school is priced at $65.00 per person and more information can be found at www.veronyc.com. Wines are paired with a selection of food hailing from the region.
