The best way to make yourself indispensable at work is to covertly sabotage the operation, and then be the one who solves the problem all the time. You will be the go-to guy all the time. Just don't get caught or you'll get fired.
Why on earth would you want to be indispensible at work - that just means that you get anything and everything to do! Plus it becomes hard to get any time off. You probably get an easier life if you are one of those workers who is steady and reliable but never does anything spectacular.
