Professional Bull Riders Invades the Big Apple in 2010

bull0106.jpg

The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) is thrilled to announce its return to The World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden, for a fourth consecutive year. The PBR’s elite Built Ford Tough Series will buck into the Big Apple on January 8-10, 2010 for the Madison Square Garden Invitational. The top 40 bull riders in the world will battle the toughest athletes the PBR has to offer in a bull riding showdown unlike any other New York City will see all year.

New Yorkers will not only see a world-class production unlike any other, but they will also be treated to sights and sounds that they do not see every day. The World’s Most Famous Arena will be dressed up with more than 700 tons of dirt, western dress will be the new fashion trend of the city, and snorting bulls will be the most popular “ride” rather than taxi-cabs.

PBR fans will be treated to rides by top athletes such as PBR’s 2008 World Champion Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil) who is attempting to make PBR history by being the first champion to win back-to-back world titles. Marchi will be joined by riders like North Carolina sensation J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C.) who has taken the NYC event title two out of the last three years PBR has been at the Garden; current world no. 1 bull rider Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.), and fan favorite riders Wiley Petersen (Fort Hall, Idaho), Zack Brown (Santa Fe, Texas), and 2004 World Champ Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas).

Tickets are on sale NOW for this premiere event and can be purchased by phone at 866-448-7849, at the Madison Square Garden Box Office, and online at TheGarden.com. On Friday and Sunday, tickets are available starting at $10 and then increase to $20, $30, $45, $95, and $195. For Saturday, tickets start at $10 and increase to $20, $35, $50, $95, and $195.

The format of the Madison Square Garden Invitational consists of four rounds of competition with the first three rounds featuring the top 40 qualified riders randomly matched against the sport’s rankest bulls. The top 15 riders based upon their total cumulative score after three rounds will qualify for the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, the final decisive round of action which will happen at the conclusion of the third performance on Sunday, January 10th. The rider with the highest score on four bulls will take the coveted event title!
