'Fantasia For Real' Highlights Balance Between Motherhood, Stardom

Platinum-selling singer Fantasia Barrino was in the studio to talk about Fantasia for Real, her new reality show on VH1.

Fantasia For Real will give viewers a close-up view into the complex, touching and surprisingly relatable life of recording artist, actress and American Idol winner Fantasia. The series follows her as she juggles her career and single motherhood while devoting her energy into recording her highly anticipated third album due in March 2010. In fact, her first single off of the new album called "Move On Me" will be heard for the first time on the first episode of the series.

On season three of American Idol, Fantasia Barrino rose to fame after being crown the winner, after impressing the judges and America with her stylized gospel-influenced sound, and her explosive stage presence. Since, this 25 year-old southern superstar has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards. She's also known for her role as Celie in the Broadway musical "The Color Purple."

In 2005, Fantasia not only used her celebrity to sing and act, but she decided to publish a memoir title "Life Is Not a Fairy Tale." The book quickly became a New York Times Bestseller, reaching number seven on the list. In it she revealed that she was functionally illiterate saying she only had enough skills to get by, but was unable to recognize unfamiliar words.

The eight-episode, 30-minute docu-series Fantasia For Real is slated to premiere January 11 at 10pm. For more information, visit vh1.com.

i just want to say fantasia i love you and i think you are the best american idol ever

Most of us who think of attending The Color Purple performances, we’re faced with the lack of tickets or the sky-rocked prices. Lately, I was recommended Ticketwood.com to compare and purchase tickets and found it interesting. You may want to check.
