How To Find 10 Blissful Minutes For Yourself

mom1230.jpg

Lyss Stern and Julie Klappas authors of If You Give a Mom a Martini: 100 Ways to Find 10 Blissful Minutes for Yourself were here with ideas on ways busy moms can relax. Their tips included:

1. Sort Your Skivvies
See: "Granny" panties (the kind we are suggesting to throw away!), pretty drawer liners and sachets, a few sexy panties (the kind we are suggesting to buy).
Tip: It may not be glam, but go through your undie drawer and throw out all your grannie panites. It’ll feel great. Then in your next ten minutes, order something sexy to replenish!

2. Throw A Virtual Punch
See: Boxing gloves, Rocky music, big screen tv
Tip: Put on your boxing gloves, crank up the Rocky soundtrack and step into the ring for ten minutes of Wii Fight Night.

3. Get A Handle On It
See: Canvas L.L. Bean tote bag, containing pretty stationery, magazines, etc.
Tip: Turn a canvas tote into your bag of fun by stocking it with everything you need to fill a few minutes of free time with things you love to do. For example, photos you want to put into a scrapbook… pretty cards to write a handwritten note to a friend… tear sheets of items you want to order online… articles from magazines you want to read… etc.

4. Return to Fantasy Island
See: A laptop with a beach photo on the screen, margarita glass
Tip: Set up a photo slide show of a fabulous vacation you took in your pre-mommy life. Press play while you sit back and relax, listening to beach music and sipping a fruity drink. Instant vacation!

5. Chocolate Indulgence
See: A pretty plate with gorgeous chocolates
Tip: We’ll give the simple guidelines for maximizing your ten minute chocolate experience, with quick tips that touch upon appearance, taste, texture, even the best time of day to indulge!
