City Crab & Seafood Company's Seafood-Eating Contest

On December 3, a group of America's top Major League Eaters will gather at City Crab & Seafood Company in New York City in pursuit of victory at The Slammin' Salmon World Seafood-Eating Contest to kick off the new Broken Lizard movie, The Slammin' Salmon, which will open in theatres on Friday, December 11, 2009.
The professional eaters, including number-three-ranked Bob Shoudt and number-four-ranked Tim Janus (Eater X) will compete for the $2,500 cash purse in the six-minute, all-you-can-eat seafood chowder-eating competition. This is the first time Major League Eaters will consume chowder in competition and it is anticipated that they will consume well more than a gallon in the allotted time.
Members of the Broken Lizard cast will be on hand for the event, and amateur competitors will be chosen to compete alongside the professionals. The Slammin' Salmon, whose subtitle is "Get Your Bib, it's Gonna Get Messy," is directed by Kevin Heffernan and distributed by Anchor Bay Films. It is the latest movie by Broken Lizard (Supertroopers, Beerfest).
