David Tutera's Wedding Do's and Dont's
Big Budgets
Don't - most brides think that they need a big budget to WOW on their wedding day. They get overwhelmed and buy tons of little small, knicknack stuff for their décor.
Do - In terms of planning out your budget, David advises couples to focus first on the elements that matter most to you as a couple, (the food, the entertainment, the venue, whatever!) to ensure that those dreams are met. Then, spend the rest of your budget on pieces that will make the most impact on the room as a whole - like a one beautiful centerpiece and inexpensive votive candles for your table. Remember, everyone looks gorgeous bathed in candlelight.
Bouquets
Don't - a tacky bridal bouquet.
Do - a bouquet that matches the look and feel of your wedding.
Place Cards
Don't - not having a place card. When you have a large group of people, you want to have you guests know exactly where they are sitting - you don't want them wandering around the venue not knowing where to go.
Do - be creative. Place cards are important - it shows your guests that the party hosts have put thought into where they are being seated. It also gives couples the chance to put people together so they strike up a conversation.
Favors
Don't - a wedding favor that doesn't match the look and feel of the wedding.
Do - a wedding favor that makes sense and helps to tell the story of your wedding.
"My Fair Wedding" airs on Sundays at 10 p.m. on WeTv. For more on Tutera's wedding tips, visit www.davidtutera.com.
