I believe this will cause more chaos then it will do any good. While it is a good idea to help out commuters by giving them a few extra minutes, it is coming at the wrong time. This was reported shortly after the Mayor declared budgets cuts for Schools, and Police/Fire. If the tickets make money for the budget, it doesnt make sense to be leniant, while other major departments are suffering and making cuts. Making budgets cuts for schools and citizens public safety should Never be an option !

It wont make a difference.the traffic enforcement agents swarm and circle like vultures anyway

With mayor bloomberg the amount of tickets being handed out went up so I am not surprised he wants to veto the bill

Yea i tink it will most likely cause more chaos..like they said they will add 5 mintes and come back late anyway.. What are we going to do about those meter maids giving people tickets just because..I was in front of my school in the bronx, waiting for someone to give me their parking spot, and he was loading some items into the car , so i had to wait, and the NYPD dark blue car comes up behind me tells me to move, so i said I was waiting for this parking b/c i have to get to class, she said oh well move, so i explained to her that if i move I'll lose it and be late to class. She didnt care and said for me to go. The whole time this conversaton took place we were in our cars talking thru the windows. I pulled off and went around to the other side of the concourse and saw someone entering their car and proceeded to wait for them to enter and pull off , so I can have their spot. This took place 9/17/09. And today, I decided to go online to pay a parking ticket for alternate street parking, and i saw a ticket that I had no knowledge of just collecting penalties, and it was from that day in front of my school. She gave me a ticket without giving me a ticket. Just because she wanted to.There was no reason, I moved when she asked, and she didnt even put the right make and model of my car because she couldnt remember. She wrote me a ticket just because she didnt like my attitude, Im assuming,So what now we get tickets for having a bad day?? She wrote a ticket to no one, with my plates, is that right?? Can they just give u a ticket and pretend u were double parked, and then how do u prove otherwise. That's totally unfair.
