Natural Immunity Boosters For The Upcoming Winter Season

Despite growing concerns about this year's flu season, many consumers are left clueless as to the steps toward proper prevention. Whether you're in an at-risk group or as healthy as a horse, there are simple, natural steps you can take to help boost your immunity and avoid getting sick this season. Physician and nutritionist Dr. Melina Jampolis stopped by with some ways to eat yourself healthy.

Breakfast:
Post Shredded Wheat with skim milk topped with fresh berries
Provides fiber, dairy, antioxidants

Lunch:
Whole grain bread turkey sandwich with avocado
Carrots and hummus
Provides fiber, healthy fats, beta-carotene, beans in hummus

Dinner:
Salad with romaine lettuce, olive oil, topped with walnuts
Turkey chili
Side broccoli
Provides legumes, dark green leafy veggies, healthy fats, ala from walnuts, tomatoes

Snack:
Apple + ¼ cup almonds
Provides rutin from apple, healthy fat, fiber
