PIX Family Feast: Lisa Mateo & Her Son
Thanksgiving is just two days away and from the PIX family to yours, we want to celebrate with you by sharing special family recipes.
Lisa Mateo and her son Jaron showed us how to make Pumpkin Pie (see the recipe after the jump).

Lisa's Pumpkin Pie
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 eggs
- 1 can (15 oz.) pumpkin
- 1 can (12 fl. oz.) evaporated milk
- 1 unbaked 9-inch (4-cup volume) deep-dish pie shell
- Whipped cream
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425° F
- Mix sugar, cinnamon, salt, ginger and cloves in small bowl.
- Beat eggs in large bowl.
- Stir in pumpkin and sugar-spice mixture into large bowl with eggs.
- Slowly add evaporated milk.
- Pour into pie shell.
- BAKE in preheated oven for 15 minutes.
- Reduce temperature to 350° F; bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
- Cool on wire rack for 2 hours.
- Top with whipped cream before serving.

i am so excited about the pumkin pie receipe. i love pumpkin pie and my son aswell. it's gonna be a real treat this holiday. to finally get the receipe is real sweet. maybe apple pie should be next. lol. thank you wpix.

i watch everyday! The entire morning news team rocks. I watch faithfully. Wtih the holiday season approaching I especially kept thinking about my contribution to the holiday meal. My mom as usual has Turkey duty and my sister and I normally bring the fixins. This year when I saw Lisa's recipe for Pumpkin pie I was excited.
