Celebrate World Sight Day With Eyewear
The average cost for a pair of prescription eye glasses is $227! World Sight Day, created by the World Health Organization and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, is an annual day devoted to raising awareness.
Susan M. Dyckman, Executive Director of New Eyes for the Needy stopped by to discuss the overwhelming need for affordable healthcare and the issues regarding health management that face millions of Americans today. Since its inception, New Eyes of the Needy has helped more than 7,000,000 people in the world.
To celebrate World Sight Day, the non-profit has partnered with EyeBuyDirect.com, an online optical retailer that offers affordable eyewear (fashionable frames staring at just $7.99), and will receive one pair of eye glasses for every pair sold on the site next week (Oct. 5-9).
