Willem Dafoe Stars In 'Antichrist,' 'Idiot Savant'

Actor Willem Dafoe stopped by the studio to talk about his roles in the new movie Antichrist and in the new play "Idiot Savant."
Antichrist centers on "A couple lose [who] their young son when he falls out the window while they have sex in the other room. The mother's grief consigns her to hospital, but her therapist husband brings her home intent on treating her depression himself. To confront her fears they go to stay at their remote cabin in the woods, 'Eden', where something untold happened the previous summer. Told in four chapters with a prologue and epilogue, the film details acts of lustful cruelty as the man and woman unfold the darker side of nature outside and within," says Fandango.
Created by avant-garde genius Richard Foreman, "Idiot Savant" is a "philosophical comedy, in the great tradition of Ionesco and Preston Sturges. From precise existential and metaphysical acrobatics, to a ridiculous game of inter-species golf with Giant Duck, "Idiot Savant" is a fresh, bracing and hilarious exploration of the boundaries of the legitimate," says Public Theater.
Antichrist is playing in theaters now. For more information, visit www.antichristthemovie.com.
"Idiot Savant" is playing at the The Public Theater (425 Lafayette Street, New York, NY 10003) now thru December 13. For tickets ans show times, visit www.publictheater.org.
