I do understand were everyone is coming form about everyone's life being at risk but you have to understand that the pilots have a lot to do in the cockpit with updates on laptops, autopilot, going though checklists repeatedly, even on the ground including weather in the air. so at some point they can lose track of time but i think they should not be fired they should be put on suspension and go though training again, and remember this is there first incident.
I think this is all about nothing. Nothing happen. The passengers are safe, no damage no harm.
Maybe just a suspension is in order.
