Free Friday: Cooking Demos, Candy-Flavored Gelato

Each week we're telling viewers about events, activities and items that are free. That's right! No money required.

On this week's free list:

1. "Hummus Place" is celebrating their grand opening by giving free cooking demonstrations, samples, and Turkish coffee in Manhattan
2. "Screme" is giving free candy-flavored gelato to kids under the age of 12 who come trick-o-treating in their costume in Manhattan (only at the Madame Tussauds in Times Square)

They will be hosting a GRAND OPENING featuring FREE tastings and cooking demonstrations. I am sending you the details so you can consider it for the Free Friday showcase that you do. Just so you know, this grand opening is celebrating our 5th location in NYC. We are very excited. All the details are listed below and I can certainly bring in some samples of our delicious signature hummus, along with our authentic Turkish coffee. The event will be on October 27, 2009 from 12pm-9pm

Screme
Located in Madame Tussauds - 234 West 42nd Street - btwn. 7th and 8th Avenue

On Halloween Day, Screme will be giving away a small candy-flavored gelato to kids under 12 who come trick or treating in costume. Candy flavors include Twix, Snickers, Reese's Pieces, and more. (THIS IS ONLY AT THE MADAME TUSSAUDS LOCATION IN TIMES SQUARE).
