amy1002.jpg

Actress Amy Brenneman stopped by to talk about her role as Psychiatrist Violet Turner in ABC’S Private Practice.

A spin-off of ABC's Grey's Anatomy, yesterday's season premiere of Private Practice found Addison (Kate Walsh) and Naomi (Audra McDonald) fighting to save Violet's life after a violent attack leaves her severely injured and her baby missing.

Brenneman, a Connecticut native, is best known for her role as Judge Amy Gray in Judging Amy and Janice Licalsi in NYPD Blue. She is a co-founder of Cornerstone Theater Company, which customizes theater classics to their audience. Brenneman's acting credits include 88 Minutes, Nine Lives and The Jane Austen Book Club.

Private Practice airs Thursdays at 10pm on ABC. For more information, visit abc.go.com.

It certainly was "touch and go" for Violet and her baby last night on "Private Practice." Intriguing how this will be explored in future episodes. Taking a look at the profession of a Psychiatrist.
