When The Dodgers and Giants Left NY For LA

New York still has two major league baseball teams and one of them -- The Yankees -- is in the ALCS playoffs. But there was a time when the Big Apple was bustling with four teams, until the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants left for California.
Author of After Many A Summer Robert Murphy stopped by to shed light on those days and how New Yorkers and Californians took the news.
After Many A Summer: The Passing of the Giants and Dodgers and a Golden Age in New York Baseball is available in stores now.

It was wonderful to hear from this talented author. His book is a must-read for anyone who loves New York City and New York City history--NOT just sports fans. I wish that more time had been devoted to this segment as it is a complex and relevant story.
Kudos Mr. Murphy!
This book sounds fascinating, and I'm not even a baseball nut. As a fellow Brooklynite, I can't wait to hear Mr. Murphy's tale of old New York.
