Question Of The Day: Healthcare Workers & Swine Flu Vaccination

I dont think its fair to mandate all healthcare workers to receive this shot since visitors to healthcare facilities aren't mandated to be vacinated, not to mention they most often have closer contact with loved ones while visiting. Some visitors are urged to wash hands before touching patients and few follow rules. I belive it should be a personal choice since this new vaccine has just been released.

I don't understand the hospital workers position. The vaccine has undergone successful clinical trials, and the probability of problems is far lower than the probability of catching MRSA, for example. It's a public safety issue. We already have enough problems with hospital-based infection transmission.

Health care workers know better than anyone else how these vaccines work in the body. If they're protesting about getting it, then so should everyone else. WPIX should do a story about the vaccination creators not wanting to take it and urging their own family and friends to stay away...

I don't think is should be presented as a mandatory situation for health care worker. I work for lincoln hospital in the bronx and im not cover under a health plan. so how does that help those who work for the hospital without health coverage which is not offered for worker employed by a temp agency. so we have to make that decision not new york state .......

The economy in the United States is not so good to
be threating us of taking our jobs when there are alot of people unemployed right now to take more people out of there jobs for a vaccine!
