I don't smoke. For me, this is a matter of the bigger picture. It's LEGAL to smoke - no one should support peoples rights being taken away, whether you agree with those peoples choices or not.

Smokers do have the right to smoke, but do not have the right to subject me to it. In any case where rights conflict and one is exercised by taking an action, while the other right is exercised by taking no action, I believe the "no action" right takes precedence. To be forced to be subjected to smoke is like being forced to listen to someone else's bass track as they drive by. The action takers, smoking or showing off a subwoofer, must find ways or locations where it does not disturb anyone else.

This is going to far people can't smoke in bars ,work or in cars. Now outside is also going to be a fineable offense.

Some areas of the park yes the entire park no way

I am a non smoker and understand Healthy People concept of 2010 to reduce smoking therefore preventing disease and improving the environment. But we keep finding ways to charge people for a addiction which is smoking. Why don't we stop pretending that people who smoke have rights and ban smoking. At the rate we are going I won't have any place to send my husband, who by the way stopped smoking for 8 months and restarted last month.

Smoking should be banned in parks and beaches because of the waste that is left behind from smokers. I am a business owner and everyday I must clean in front of my store because of the filthy cigarette butts left behind by smokers. This will help keep all parks and beaches cleaner. It will also stop people from teaching kids how to smoke. The kids suffer the most because some people don't care about smoking around children. I dislike when people smoke around their kids with the smoke blowing right into the face of children.

I was a smoker, but I believe people have right to choose, I might not like your perfume or cologne but I cant ask you NOT to wear it, Face it folks more people and children die every day riding in cars than from smoking should we ban driving as well. And if its because of the litter maybe we should ban all fast food containers, soda bottles etc.

I'm not a smoker and i detest it, i agree we're taking freedom rights when banning smoking in parks... but also by letting them smoke in parks, beaches and any other crowded place, the smokers are taking my right to not smoke, i cant ask a smoker to stop smoking if its bothering me when i'm at the beach or when i'm in the park.. so i say yes let them ban it
