LL Cool J Talks About Starring In 'NCIS: Los Angeles'

We spoke to actor/rapper LL Cool J about his role as Sam Hanna in the new spin-off series NCIS: Los Angeles.

The spin-off drama follows Sam and Special Agent "G" Callen (Chris O'Donnell) through the "high stakes world of the Office of Special Projects (OSP), a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals that pose a threat to the nation's security. By assuming false identities and utilizing the most advanced technology, this team of highly trained agents goes deep undercover, putting their lives on the line in the field to bring down their targets," according to CBS.

Born James Todd Smith, LL Cool J hails from Long Island. His stage name stands for "Ladies Love Cool James." He is a two-time Grammy Award-winner and NAACP Image Award winner and first broke out onto the music scene in 1984 as the flagship artist for Def Jam Records. He has 10 consecutive platinum-plus selling albums, and 2004’s "The Definition" and 2006’s "Todd Smith" both went Gold. LL transitioned into acting three years ago on with a role on House.
