Con Edison Learning Center Maintains Workers' Skills

Larry the Electric Guy is live at the Con Edison Learning Center in Long Island City and learning about the electric company.
The 185,000 square feet Con Edison Learning Center has spectacular water views of the United Nations Building and the midtown skyline, one of New York's best kept secrets.
Just one train stop from Grand Central Station, the nine-acre site boasts a 200-seat auditorium/meeting center, multiple computer classrooms, a technical business library complete with Internet access, a nuclear power plant simulator, several customized energy-specific training sites, and enough parking for nearly 400 cars.
The Learning Center's primary objective is retraining Con Edison employees for new skills and responsibilities in an effort to reduce customer costs. Use of the Queens center as a convenient, cost effective business and meeting center alternative to Manhattan locations has also proven to be successful.
Larry is checking out the Con Edison bucket truck learning how Con Edison crews make electric line repairs at high altitudes, learn how to climb a utility pole and get green energy saving tips.
