Judge Mazz Brings The 'Street Court' To NYC

mazz0921.jpg

Judge Michael "Mazz" Mazzariello stopped by the studio to talk about laying down the law in his new show Street Court, which makes it series premiere today on PIX.

Breaking the court show out of the courtroom, the series follows Judge Mazz, tough-talking former Brooklyn D.A., across America as he holds court where it really belongs: at the scene of the dispute. Offering a fresh twist on one of the most popular program formats on television, Street Court advances the courtroom genre by pairing the authority and tradition of the judge role with the authenticity and drama of real locations.

As a seasoned litigator with 20 years of experience, Brooklyn boy Mazzariello has served the judicial system from all angles. He has worked as both a New York City prosecutor and criminal defense attorney; and he has also mediated and investigated thousands of cases involving matters of family, community, and workplace. Mazzariello served as Chief Prosecutor for the New York City Board of Education under the Guiliani administration. He also founded East New York Legal Services, a walk-in nonprofit law firm created to provide legal aide to New York City’s most disenfranchised communities.

Street Court makes it series premiere today, September 21 at 1pm on WPIX. For more information, visit www.streetcourttv.com.

Good Show, but tons of misspellings! Judgement is spelled with the e in the middle. And actually on this website it reads that the cerus premiere is today. Did you mean series? If you are looking for a proofreader, give me a call!

A fresh idea for court justice. On site street justice. What we do not need is another court based judge show. Very unique. Nice interview, as always, Tamsen!

Hey Judge Mazz,
Love your show. From one italian to another, you're an educated italian with just the right amount of "swagger". I love it.
I just needed to send a little note on the case of the "bothced screen door installation". When the door mechanic said he "hanged" two doors, you corrected him by saying, "You mean you "hung" two doors. Actually "hanged" was correct. You only use "hung" with a helping verb such as "had hung" or "was hung".
Past tense is "hanged", past participle is "had hung".
Loyal viewer,
Debbie

Love your show, Judge. You're fair, honest, and everything a Judge should be. Many professionals lack good ole' common sense..not you!

Good Luck :)

Dear Judge Mazz:
Love your show, fresh format and not quite as scripted as the other Judge Shows. Please explain or give me a reference so I can understand what a "HUCKALAROO ??" is. Thanks.

Posted by Justmmie at January 13, 2010 3:06 PM

From the Urban Dictionary...
Huckalero:
A reckless and unsafe person on the firing range.
