NASCAR's Brian Vickers Is Going After The 'Chase For The Sprint Cup'

The NASCAR driver No. 83 Brian Vickers stopped by the studio to talk about qualifying for the Chase for the Sprint Cup and what he and his team are going to do to secure the title. Vicker brought the trophy with him and talked about how much it's really worth.
Vickers' interest in racing began at age 8 and now, at 23 years of age, he is one of the hottest up-and-coming drivers in motorsports. Driving for Red Bull Racing, Vickers set a"first-year performance benchmark for the all-new team and manufacturer partner Toyota, earning their first Top 10 finish in his 1st-ever start for RBR, their first Top 5 later that season and leading the most laps of any Toyota team during the 2007 season," according to his website.
During 2002 Busch Series season, he qualified for Charlotte's May race on a Friday, hurried home to participate in Trinity High School graduation ceremonies, then returned to Charlotte in time to race Saturday afternoon. Earlier in the 2002 season, Vickers, who had a 4.43 GPA, missed his high school prom because he was racing at Bristol.
The first race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup is this Sunday in New Hampshire. For more information on the Chase For The Sprint Cup, visit www.nascar.com/series/cup. For more on Vickers, visit www.brianvickers.com.
