Asher Book Gains 'Fame' In New Movie

Actor Asher Book stopped by to talk about starring as Marco in the new movie Fame.
An updated version of the 1980 musical of the same name, Fame centers on teenagers attending New York City High School for the Performing Arts (whose nickname is "The Fame School" and is today known as Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School). The school is a hotspot for young talent and its specialized training often leads its current students and alumni to fame. Book plays high school student Marco. His co-stars include Kelsey Grammer and Megan Mullally.
Some notable real-life LaGuardia High School alumni include Jennifer Aniston, Adrien Brody, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Wesley Snipes, Marlon Wayans and Asher Book himself.
A native of Arlington, Virginia, Book is the lead singer of band V Factory, whose debut album is set to hit stores soon. Book's voice can be heard on the Fame soundtrack in the songs "Ordinary People," "Try," "Someone to Watch Over Me" and "Hold Your Dream." His other acting credits includ Eight One Eight, Medium, Come Away Home and Zoey 101.
Fame hits theaters on Friday, September 25. For more information, visit generationfame.com. For more on Book, visit www.asherbook.com.
