Rock 'N Roll Virtuosos Jimmy Page And Jack White Warn Us That 'It Might Get Loud'

loud0812.jpg

Jimmy Page and Jack White spoke with Emily about their upcoming film, It Might Get Loud.

Billed as "a documentary about the electric guitar from the point of view of three rock legends," the film was conceived by producer Thomas Tull and directed by An Inconvenient Truth's David Guggenheim. The Edge stars alongside Page and White. Filmed through the eyes of these three rock'n roll virtuosos from three different generations, audiences will discover how a furniture upholsterer from Detroit, a studio painter and musician from London and a 17-year-old Dublin schoolboy each utilized the electric guitar to launch them into the arena of superstardom.

In the documentary, each rocker describes his own musical rebellion. They also play on the same stage together, share their influences, swap stories, and teach each other songs. The interviews are joined by visual treats, which take us to places where famous songs were written, and pivotal moments in rock history took place.

Jimmy Page is the founding member of Led Zeppelin, and helped define their signature hard-rock guitar sound. Jack White formed The White Stripes in 1997 with his sister, Meg. Since then, they have garnered five Grammys. White went on to form The Raconteurs, his second band, whose debut album Broken Boy Soldiers debuted at number 7 on the Billboard charts. The Edge is the guitarist of the renowned Irish rock band U2, and has been described as one of the most influential guitar players of his generation. His minimalistic style is a signature for U2's music.

It Might Get Loud opens in New York and Los Angeles Theaters today.
