rick0805.jpg

Singer and actor Rick Springfield stopped by to discuss his new album My Precious Little One: Lullabies for a New Generation. He performed songs "Don't Keep The Sandman Waiting" and "Love Somebody."

Springfield was born in Sydney, Australia. He developed his love for music in high school, where he began playing the guitar and also formed a band. In 1971 he scored the major Australian hit "Speak to the Sky." A year later Springfield left Sydney and moved to Los Angeles where he released the album hit album Beginnings.

In the mid-1970s Springfield temporarily left music for acting and appeared in several popular television shows such as Wonder Woman, The Incredible Hulk and The Six-Million Dollar Man. He later went on to star as Dr. Noah Drake on the popular daytime drama General Hospital.

Springfield returned to music in the 1980s where he released the album Working Class Dog’s, that yielded the classic tune "Jessie's Girl." which earned him a Grammy Award and became known as an popular anthem of the 1980s.

Good work, WPIX. Very enjoyable interview and music videos here. Rick's lullaby CD is just wonderful. An all around talented man there. Proud to be a fan of 3 decades standing.

Great performances! The new CD is amazing my kids (8 & 2) and I all love it! His more recent stuff from 2000 up to now is incredible also - probably even better than his music from the 80s. If you liked him back then, you really owe it to yourself to check him out again!

I loved these videos! Rick is so talented and he is still creating new music! Last years' CD "Venus in Overdrive" is very very good, reminiscent of "Working Class Dog" (Jesse's Girl) but in current musical style! Check Rick out at www.rickspringfield.com or even better go to a live show! He is better than ever and has more energy than in the 80's!

Thanks PIX11 for sharing this awesome performer with us!

Wonderful song (Sandman) from wonderful Rick Springfield. It's great to hear him play acoustic guitar, singing sweetly. This cd is a must buy (if only for baby gifts!) and beyond. Great to see him on tv and lookin' good. I love this song and it shows his diversity - from pop rock god to lullabye lover.
