Happy 50th Birthday, Hawaii!

A half-century ago today, the territory of Hawaii became America’s 50th state. The archipelago boasts some of the most beautiful beaches and picturesque terrain in the world. But its not all palm trees and sand, there's deep history and culture.
Lauren Gallant from Hawaiian Tropic Zone stopped by to talk about Hawaiian-influenced cuisine and what they’re doing for the state’s 50th birthday. Hawaiian Tropic Zone dancers and their hula instructor Kawai also performed for us.

Aloha, This is Kawai the Hula Dancer on the show here. If anyone has any questions or would like to contact me please email me.
Aloha...
Kawai
Worst hula dancer I have ever seen! She is a disgrace to the culture and to the hawaiian people! This girl has no idea what she's doing!
That was an abomination to watch! How could you celebrate Hawaii's 50th birthday with a person who clearly does NOT know how to dance the hula? That was the WORST Hukilau I have EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE! This is truly an embarrassment to my people and my culture.
I represented my culture WELL. And this is my BEST redition of the HUKILAU. Sorry you folks feel a need to HATE. But that is not ALOHA. Im 85% Hawaiian from Waianae and Educated, as you can clearly see from my speech.
Aloha,
Kawai
What's with the hater's? Haven't you heard the old adage...If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all? I guess it's easier to put someone down than bring someone up.
