Drugstore Beauty Bargains For Your Face, Hair And Body

In this economy, make the drugstore your one-stop shop for beauty must-haves on a budget.
For Women’s Health’s third-annual Beauty Awards, we asked leading dermatologists, makeup artists, and hairstylists to reveal their top picks and then we got busy testing the products to compile a list of products that run the gamut from tried-and-true classics to new-to-the-market finds. We also asked readers to weigh in with an online poll.
What we came up with is a list of over 40 products and what I brought here today are eight products that are sizzling beauty deal that you can get at the drugstore for $8 and under.
We broke the products into four categories: face, hair, body and makeup.
Let’s start with products for your FACE.
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne
• This facial wash is a reader favorite.
• It uses 2% Salicylic Acid to clear bacteria and makeup out of pores.
• It also soothes skin to prevent over-drying with aloe and chamomile.
• This cleanser has been around for a while and definitely is a must-have classic.
• Plus it will only cost you $6.
We also love Pond’s Micro-Dermabrasion Wet Cleansing Towelettes
• These towelettes are the newest cleansing wipes from Pond’s.
• The textured towelette has exfoliating beads on it so when you wipe your face it’s like a mini micro-dermabrasion treatment.
• The Pond’s wipes are also very convenient because you can throw them in your purse, gym bag or carry-on and bring them with you for on-the-go cleansing.
• A package of 30 towelettes will only cost you $6
We had a lot of great, inexpensive products in the HAIR category.
One of our Editor’s Picks is TRESemmé Simply No Frizz Spray Gel.
• Usually the heat and humidity of the summer months makes hair frizzy, but not if you use this product.
• You apply the spray gel to wet hair and then either style or let your hair air-dry. It works with all types of hair – curly, straight, wavy.
• It gives you added frizz control and helps with fly-aways, but it doesn’t make your hair feel heavy.
• An 8 oz bottle only costs $5.
Another Hair product that made the Beauty Awards list is Pantene Pro-V Beautiful Lengths Shampoo.
• This shampoo contains Aquacurrent Science, which helps regulate the flow of water in and out of your hair so you get the right level of moisture to keep hair healthy and strong.
• Combined with conditioning ingredients like terminal amino silicones, the water balance and protecting elements make hair ten times stronger against damage so women can grow hair longer without disruption.
• Plus, the $4 bottle is 12.6 ounces, so it will last you a while.
Our next category is BODY.
One of the Women’s Health editor’s picks in the Body category is Secret Smooth Effects.
• What we loved the most about this deodorant is that it really is an invisible solid. It left behind no white residue or marks on clothes.
• It also has ingredients that help prevent and treat razor burn.
• It also smells great, and for $4 it’s a definite bargain!
It wouldn’t be the Body category without a great body wash. On of our Readers’ picks is the Dove Body Washes with Nutrium Moisture.
• This is an updated version of the classic Dove body wash and another tried-and-true product.
• It won’t leave skin feeling dry because of the Nutrium moisture that nourishes skin.
• It’s also a great value—a 24 oz bottle costs $4.
• Plus, it’s great for everyone in the family, so your mate can use it or even the kids!
It wouldn’t be a complete Beauty Awards list without MAKEUP.
We loved the Revlon Pre/Post Tweezing Cream.
• Some people may not even know about this product, but it’s a must-have if you tweeze your eyebrows.
• Before you start plucking apply the pre-tweezing gel, which has a mixture of aloe, cucumber and algae extracts to minimize discomfort and make it easier for you to grab one hair at a time.
• The post-tweezing cream soothes and moisturizes skin and reduces redness with oat proteins and vitamin E.
• This will only cost $6.
CoverGirl Invisible Concealer was our Readers’ Pick for Best Concealer.
• This concealer has a color to match every skin tone.
• It goes on very smoothly, without caking or getting into creases in the skin.
• Also, a little concealer goes a long way so the $5 tube will last a while.
