Former Mets Pitcher Tom Seaver Talks About Military Family Movie Night At The Intrepid

When he the joined the Mets in 1967, he helped transform the team from lovable losers to formable foes. Tonight, former pitcher Tom Seaver will host the Bank of America's Military Family Movie Night at the Intrepid -- a free event includes a screening of a premiere movie on the pier. Festivities start at 7:30 p.m. and the movie begins at sundown.
Bank of America Military Family Movie Night is a celebration of the brave men and women - and their supportive families - who serve our country and keep us safe every day. This program is designed to honor and thank them for their service. Movie Night at the Intrepid is the kickoff to a four-market program across the country. Bank of America, who has provided specialized financial services to military personnel since 1920, will be honoring men and women in uniform and their families in San Antonio, San Diego and the greater-Washington, D.C. area through the end of August.
Seaver was known as "Tom Terrific" and "The Franchise" during his long 20-year career with the MBL. He played for the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox and gained 311 wins, 3,640 strikeouts and a 2.86 earned run average. In 1992, he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
