Ask The Doctor: How Often Can I Donate Blood And Platelets?

1. How often is it safe to donate blood and platelets? I donate platelets on a regular basis but everyone says I do it too often. I figure the place where I donate knows whether or not it's safe, however if you say it's o.k. I'll feel better.
