Like most other civil rights movements in our history, gay marriage will continue to have opposition but in the end I trust it will be widely accepted.

I support gay marriage so long as one of the grooms is Staten Island Chuck.

I am a pastor of a church in upstate New York! I oppose gay marriages first because a marriage is described in the Bible and constitution as a union between a man and a woman or husband and wife. The Bible also states for the family to be fruitful and multiply! We are slowly losing the battle to keep the family structure together by giving up our rights especially the man in the family! First of all, there are too many fathers and husbands that have been replaced by "Baby daddies" and the phrase, "I got two mommies or two daddies!" This has caused the strong family values to weaken! If the gay marriage bill passes, it would no doubt do further destruction to the family unit. We need more parents who are educated who can teach their children what true family values are all about! There is no family recgonized but the true family of father and mother or husband and wife! Anything else is a mark of immorality and destruction!

The Bible says that "Righteousness exalts a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people." Gay marriage is a reproach to our nation and many will be offended if this legislation passes. So keep up the confusion Republicans.

Many people like to refer to this as "Gay Marriage". It is actually "Marriage Equality", no more no less. There is NO religious implication. This is ONLY about the right to get a civil marriage license and be afforded the same rights as currently exist for all New Yorkers.
