GRILLED: Veronica Campbell Brown

I have no idea what sort of discipline it takes to get in shape and be the best at what you do. No idea. But Veronica Campbell Brown sure does. She's a World Champion runner with absolutely no ounce of fat on her...not one. Ridiculous.
Our different body types didn't surprise me because she runs everyday...and I do too, except that I laps towards the vending machine while she actually runs several miles a day. I'm not sure mine actually qualify as runs, they're more like hops to the vending machine.
She works hard and deserves all the accolades she gets and she's now totally big time. And when you join the big leagues, you get GRILLED!!!...Ok, that's not true. You don't have to hit the big time to get GRILLED. I just felt like saying it. But the part about her getting GRILLED is true. Totally! Check it out...

Game show producer and host Chuck Barris stopped by the studio to talk about his new novel Who Killed Art Deco?.
Who Killed Art Deco? is a "three-in-one literary satire, lampooning simultaneously the murder mystery, the private-eye novel, and the family drama. Outrageous, yes, but readers would expect nothing less from the man whose memoir claimed he was a CIA assassin and whose previous novel posited a ruthless (yet oddly plausible) game show. The wealthy murdered man, Arthur Deco, Jr.; the prime suspect, Art’s spurned gay lover; and the private eye, Jimmy Netts, are drawn with broad strokes, like characters in one of Woody Allen’s New Yorker essays, and they are all very funny," according to Booklist.
A Pennsylvania native, Barris was the first host of The Gong Show during the late 1970s and early 1980s. The show went off air in 1989, but was revived in 2008 with host Dave Attell. Among the TV game shows he created, the most famous are The Dating Game, The Newlywed Game

Hi Everyone,
Hope you had an awesome week. Mine was a little crazy after the Real Birth marathon birthing classes I tortured my husband with this past weekend. I owe him big.
Birthing stories are so different and unique but I'm really praying that my labor will not last 24 to 48 hours. I've had many women share their experiences with me and most of them have been great, but why is it that you always remember the really bad ones? I'm praying that I will be able to deliver vaginally. I also really want a doula too. I know that sounds far out for some people, but I'm hoping that I will be able to get some pain management stratgies that will help me get through this. I'm sure you all might have some techniques out there that helped you so I'm curious to hear what helped you all the most.
Also more importantly, I will be throwing you, the viewer, a shower! Yes, it will be shower of sorts with a bunch of goodies that you all will be able to get your hands on :)
It will kick off next Friday and will last until I deliver on August 11th. It will be informative, fun and the best part in these tough economic times FREE!!!!!!! I really want to help you all out. So this is what I have done.
I have reached out to some wonderful sponsors like Toys R' Us, McClaren, Graco and Diapers.com, just to name a few wonderful companies that may want to get involved.

Masters of Reception is produced by Consuelos and wife Kelly Ripa, and is about Robert and Jerry Frungillo, who have been running a wedding catering company out of New Jersey for over 30 years. Managing four different facilities and up to 10 weddings at once will naturally lead to drama. You can catch new episodes of the series on Friday, June 12 at 10pm.
Based on the Crimes of Fashion book series by Ellen Byerrum, Killer Hair is about a fashion reporter who stumbles into a hair-raising murder in Washinton, D.C. Consuelos plays Tony Trujillo in the movie, which premieres on June 21 at 8pm on Lifetime.
And because every touch counts, Consuelos is also part of the Lever 2000 Touch Campaign. "Because our skin is the largest organ in the human body, the sense of touch is the most widespread of our five senses. This super-sense offers numerous emotional and physical benefits to both children and adults," states Lever 2000.
Consuelos was born in Spain and raised in Illinois. Fans will remember him as Mateo Santos on the ABC soap opera All My Children, where he met his wife Kelly Ripa, who played Hayley Vaughan Santos. He's appeared in shows like Third Watch and Friends and has filled in as a co-host on the talk show Live With Regis and Kelly.

This weekend, though, my mother is throwing me a baby shower. I'm so looking forwrad to seeing my family and friends. I will share some pictures with you next week. All the girls are coming to Staten Island, so I'll have to show them a good time.
And by the way, tell me what you thought about the viewer baby shower that I just threw or as I like to call it, "Suki Mama Mania."
We're giving away a diaper bag filled with items worth $500 and also a gift from www.diapers.com. We will be doing this every Friday until I deliver. Trust me, we are going to have some awesome giveaways including strollers, car seats and possibly baby furniture.

She went from running the most successful prostitution ring to running a laundromat in the Nevada desert called Dirty Laundry. For many people, the name Heidi Fleiss is synonomous with sex and money. But these days something else is ruffling the feathers of the former Hollywood Madame. She's joined us this morning to talk about it -- her involvement with PETA.
Something people may not know about Fleiss is her adoration for birds. Fleiss will speak on PETA's behalf at PetSmart's annual shareholder meeting on Wednesday, June 17, at 10am at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park. Fleiss, who owns dozens of exotic birds, will be urging the company to stop selling birds. She learned firsthand that birds' needs can't be met in captivity.
Fleiss never cages her birds and allows them to fly free in part of her home, which she turned into a huge aviary. But as she points out, most people who buy birds from PetSmart have no idea how to care for these complex animals and keep them caged their entire lives; many birds are unable even to stretch their wings, let alone fly.
Fleiss will ask the company to begin phasing out the sale of all birds in light of they suffer in captivity as well as PetSmart's abysmal record of neglect and abuse by its stores and animal suppliers. Their investigation and reports from concerned customers have shown that PetSmart routinely sells sick and suffering birds—examples include mite-infested parakeets, a cockatoo who was screaming and bobbing neurotically from stress, and a Jardin's parrot who was very ill and living in a dirty cage with filthy water.

Larry's getting a preview of the 2009 NYC Marines Mess Night Dinner, a military-civilian fundraiser that has been a Marine Corps tradition since the 1500s that few civilians ever experience. He's at Parlor Steakhouse, located at 1600 3rd Avenue at 90th Street.
"Mess Nights" encompass a cocktail hour, an opulent feast, and a range of $1-and-up fines for violating guidelines of the mess, which all guests are informed of at the onset (chewing gum, swearing and discussing politics, shop, money or religion among them). All fines are donated to the featured charities.
Mess Night '09 is a recreation of a mess night held Saturday, the March 20, 1920 at Oddenino's Imperial Restaurant on London's Regent Street. That dinner featured such classic dishes as "Poule au Pot Alexandra" and the famous "Culotte de Bœuf Imperial." It was attended by Sir Winston Churchill, a veteran of the division with which he had fought in World War I and which was honored at the dinner.
Oddenino's Imperial Restaurant operated for almost 50 years as one of London's "poshest" restaurants. Green tea cocktails created by Ito-En, the distinguished Japanese company, will add a contemporary libation.

The Story Of The MLB In 'The Bottom Of The Ninth'

The noted baseball author Michael Shapiro of Columbia University has a new book out this month called Bottom Of The Ninth: Branch Rickey, Casey Stengel and the Daring Scheme to Save Baseball from Itself and is it plays right into today’s pro sports scene, because without baseball waking up in the early ‘60s, it would never be the enormous industry that it is today.
In the innocent days of the late '50s, when all seemed right with the world, sleepy Major League Baseball, its ballparks growing old, its attendance flat, was losing its foothold in America. The NFL was about to overtake it in popularity, (and indeed, still surpasses it today). The Cowboys and Vikings brought expansion to the NFL; the majors resisted.
This is the story of how retired, 78-year old Branch Rickey, who conjured up a third major league, was ultimately duped by his partners who only wanted an expansion franchise for themselves – and they got it. But in the end, the man who was right about Jackie Robinson, was also right about how to save baseball.

KSM Perform, Talk About Opening For Demi Lovato's Summer Tour

Disney’s all-girl band KSM stopped by the studio to talk about performing as the opening act in the Demi Lovato 2009 Summer Tour.
KSM is an all-female rock band from Los Angeles, California formed in 2006, consisting of Shelby Cobra (lead vocals), Katie Cecil (guitar/vocals), Sophia Melon (bass guitar), Shea Padilla (lead guitar) and Kate Cabebe (drums). How To Keep Your Skin Looking Ageless This Summer

Summer is about lightening your beauty routine. Rebekah George will share Prevention's summer-friendly tips guaranteed to keep every part of you looking gorgeous and young all season long.
Her tips include:
Use a Makeup Brush to Boost Hair Shine
Shine products help restore lost moisture and luminosity from increased sun exposure and hotter temps, but many contain heavy silicones that can weigh hair down. The solution? Spritz shine spray onto your blush brush and then sweep over hair – the soft bristles help to apply precise, targeted shine without weighing hair down.
Shampoo With Baking Soda To Remove Smog
Higher summertime pollution means more free radicals to zap the shine and color from hair. To remove dulling residue, add a pinch of baking soda to your regular shampoo instead of using a harsh clarifying conditioner. This will rinse out the chemicals in your hair without stripping color, and can also help prevent discoloration caused by chlorine and salt water.
