'The Studio' Offers Musicians A Place To Jam With Like-Minded Music Enthusiasts

They have gym memberships for those who love to workout and sports leagues for those who live to play sports. So why not something for those who love to play music?
Everyday musicians from all over the city come to a place on the West Side called The Studio. It's like a gym membership in some respects. In this case the equipment isn't weights or StairMasters. It's guitars, drums and amps.
The Studio gives you access to other musicians and gets you in and out with their equipment set up and ready to go. Now it's even better. There's a new event called "On Stage Live." It takes it to the next level letting you play alongside real pro's.
Many New York musicians use the studio strickly as a rehearsal space. But there are memberships which have the added benefit of actually having built-in performance nights at good clubs like The Bitter End and others.
If you have a band, but don't have time to find gigs and you want to play out a bit, that's one good way to do it. And you don't have to shlep your gear! It's all ready waiting for you.
The Studio is located at 251 W. 30th Street #3WR (btwn 7th and 8th Aves). For more information, call (212) 967-6124 or visit www.thestudio.org.
