Star Trek has never been about the technology, or the fancy gadgetry... that's the stuff that made it cool. Star Trek was about discovering humanity and that is what makes it "transcend the space-time continuum!" It has accomplished that by encompassing a bit of everything, drama, comedy, action, medicine, law, and so much more. Star Trek will "Live Long and Prosper" for years and years to come.
