Kat DeLuna Is 'Unstoppable' With Her New Sound

She first burst onto the music scene two years ago with her hit single "Whine Up." Kat DeLuna is back--we spoke to her about her new sound, after which she performed her new single, "Dance Bailalo."

DeLuna is a Bronx native and was raised in the Dominican Republic before moving to Newark at the age of six. As a kid, she loved singing karaoke, and later studied opera for four years. She has collaborated with the likes of Elephant Man and Lil' Wayne--the latter, on the single "Unstoppable," which was featured in the film Confessions of a Shopaholic.

Her new effort shows off a different side of DeLuna, who self-proclaims its sound as "tropical samba rhythms with new school dance melodies."

In a MyPromStyle.com challenge, three aspiring teen designers from the NYC High School of Fashion Industries will design six diva-worthy garments, but only one will win the chance to invite the pop princess to their 2009 high school prom. The winner of the challenge will be hand picked by online voters "The Ultimate Prom" will take place on June 5th at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan.
