friday0427.jpg

Garden and get fit! Here to show us how to use pilates to make planting easier is fitness expert Kristin McGee.

• "Zip Ups" strengthen arms for pulling weeds
• "The Bug" teaches you to|bend at knees for trimmimg shrubs
• "Pilates Lunges" strengthen core for raking

And after your gardening workout, Kristin recommend stretching by doing the "Sprinkler System."

All you have to do is sit tall with legs straight out in front of you arms stretched out to sides at shoulder height hands flexed up palms pressing out. Twist to the right double pulse there then come center and twist, twist left back to center twist, twist right back to center, twist, twist left. Continue the twist, twist to each side for eight repetitions.

Pilates Weight Loss for Beginners DVD is available in stores now. For more information on McGee's workouts, visit kristinmcgee.com.

Does this girl teach Pilates in New York? I'd love to take her class.

Yes, if you go to her website, you'll see that information.

Correction: Kristin McGee has two Pilates programs from Acacia - Pilates for Beginners and Weight Loss Pilates not "Pilates Weight Loss for Beginners."

- Katie from Acacia

this is a joke...she calls it Pilates and I have never gardened in this fashion.Does gardening happen standing? Sorry, sounds like another bimbo selling Pilates for the media story- the host is on cue as well as the other manikins aside of her...they are quite colorful though with their tops.
and I say this as a 10 year pilates teacher, gardener AND I teach sensible movement classes for the garden that actually teach movement patterns not mirroring some touted NY Pilates teacher that gets her pretty little body on TV.
