Suki: Week 21 Brought Sickness, Already Big Baby

suki%20at%2021.jpg

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. I'm at Week 21 and let's just say it's going to be a big one. We had our first fetal sonogram and things are looking great. The heart, the spine, the liver, the brain -- everything is on track.

The baby is also off the charts when it comes to weight. It weighs 1 pound and 2 ounces. Yikes! All I kept thinking during that sonogram was, "I hope I have the strength to push this baby out come August."

As for the week, it's been challenging. I was sick for the first time and took some time off. It's strange not being able to take a dose of anything. And this baby has been so good to me that I really can't complain.

Other than that, we are doing great! Oh, I've offically given up my regular pants and into maternity pants. All I have to say: why was I fighting it? :)

Keep your e-mails coming. I look forward to reading all of them.

Suki, Suki,
You look so very beautiful carrying your baby. Radiant is the word. I feel that you're having a girl & probably around 81/2 lbs. You'll be a great Mom Suki. Wishing you & your husband the best of everything. I'm so happy for you.
Mom of six myself & grandmother of six also.

Dear Suki,
You look more radiant every day. On the issue of big babies, I am part of two sets of twins born a year apart…and we were BIG at birth. My older identical twin sisters were 8 lbs. each, and when my twin sister and I arrived one year later, I was nearly 10 lbs. and my twin sister arrived 20 minutes later at 71/2 lbs. (Dear Suki's Baby: At least you don't have to share your "apartment" inside there with a roommate!) Seriously, though, your love is so evident and you will be such a great mother. We so many negatives in our world today forgetting the blessings it continues to offer as well. I pray those blessings will always be yours, your husband's, and the little cherub's always.
