Marlee Matlin Talks About Her Book 'I'll Scream Later'

In the new book, I'll Scream Later, actress Marlee Matlin takes readers on a candid journey of her life. From the frightening loss of her hearing when she was 18-months-old to the highs and lows of Hollywood. Matlin's long-time interpreter Jack Jason also joined us this morning.
"I decided to write about my life now because so many thousands of people wrote in to tell me how much I inspired them as a result of doing what I did on Dancing With the Stars. I realized then that there were parts of my life that I had never spoken of but which might inspire others if I shared them. I've had my obstacles that I've overcome in my life related to my deafness, but that's only a small part of who I am." In the book she talks about her triumphs and some of the more difficult times in her life. Her relationships with actor Rob Lowe, Richard Dean Anderson, TV writer David E. Kelly are all in her new book along with her recollection of an abusive relationship with actor William Hurt.
Marlee Matlin rose to stardom when she became the youngest ever recipient of an Oscar at the age of 21 for the movie Children of a Lesser God. Since then, she has appeared in a string of TV Shows including CSI: NY and Nip/Tuck.
