It's hard to listen to someone tell the rest of the world how to "go green" when they hired a company to come in and teach them out to plant a garden. Seriously? I am going to hire a company? I'm suppose to listen to you tell me that I should plant a garden and how to do it, when you had a whole company come in and help you? lol. What everyday person can afford to hire someone to come in and show them how to plant a garden... It's frustrating listening to celebrities tell the world how to live, when they are giving us costly ideas that don't fit the lifestyle of the average Joe(and Joanne)

Hiring a company to garden for you is the same as hiring someone to mow the lawn; you are not required to do so - it's just a matter of convenience.

If you are interested in starting your own garden, visit a floral shop that has people knowledgeable on gardening. I would recommend tomatoes for NY. You could start with seeds which usually have instructions on the packet. Likewise you could garden with starter plants.

If you don't have a backyard or such you could plant herbs in your window sill. Or you could join up with a community garden.

Gardening yourself is way to save money on produce. If you are planning to sell your produce, hiring a company might be beneficial- maybe. In Manhattan, it may be cheaper and easier just to buy organic.

Celebs can enjoy a more extravagant lifestyle, but there is usually a way to apply a good idea to fit your lifestyle.

The electronics company Maria was speaking about is mine. We are www.dyscern.com, a retailer of refurbished consumer electronics. We also own a site called www.tradeups.com, which pays you for your old electronics and keeps these harmful products out of landfills.

Go green.
