TV host Josh Dorfman's new book The Lazy Environmentalist On A Budget: Save Money, Save Time, Save the Planet features innovative, cost effective ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. In a time when many people are feeling financially restricted, this book is your guide to effortlessly saving the planet while keeping some extra cash in your pocket. His tips included:

1. Use green cleaning products
Products like Clorox Green Works have no harsh chemical fumes or residue. They are also made with plant-based, biodegradable ingredients such as coconut.

2. Use a water filter to save money and the planet by eliminating plastic waste
One Brita pitcher filter can effectively replace as many as 300 standard 16.9-ounce bottles.

3) Go to Zinio.com to get your magazines in digital format
Zinio works on any computer and on iPhones. It a great way to enjoy the magazines you love and still eliminate paper.

4. Buy recycled products
Websites like Terracycle.net have products made from used packaging. They have umbrellas, shower curtains, and school supplies.

5. Buy eco-friendly fashion
Payless is introducing its eco-friendly and very affordable Zoe & Zac line of footwear and accessories. H&M is offering lots of eco-friendly looks for women, men and children.

6. Buy products made from bamboo
Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond (and to some degree Wal-Mart) offer lots of affordable bamboo accessories for kitchens and bathrooms.
