Perhaps in an effort to remind us of more care-free times, brands are incorporating icons from years past and nostalgic favorites from customers' youth into their new spring lineups.

Sure, the Smurfs may not be the first thing to come to mind when you think beauty icons- but, the Smurfette Collection by Too Faced combines the nostalgia of the 80's with fun and flirty makeup. • Paul & Joe's Limited Edition Disney Collection, $18 and up, Bergdorf Goodman
These launched in Europe, sold out almost immediately, and now are coming to the US due to overwhelming consumer demand. Offerings include all over face highlighters, a lip treatment and a hand cream. The makeup is subtle- all about imparting an innocent and mystical glow.

For a sweet and nostalgic throwback turn back to the basics. When you were learning, you followed the adventures of Dick and Jane, and even though you are full grown, the fun with this iconic duo doesn't need to stop. Now you can continue to work and play through your change purse and tote. These trendy pieces are sure to will bring you back to a simple time when your biggest worries were your A,B,C's. They use 95% recycled materials (used plastic water bottles!)
